1 large pencil mould 250g milk chocolate Pink and White marshmallows
Cellophane for packaging
Thin strips of pastel ribbons
Cut your mould so that the half pencils are separate. Cut out each pencil shape
with a 1cm border around the edge. Cut out the bottom of each pencil and then
clip both sides of the pencil together with bulldog clips to get a full pencil.
Stand the pencil upright – in a mug or jar - with the cut out bottom of the
pencil facing up (facing you). Melt your chocolate very gently either in a
double boiler or in the microwave. Now pour your chocolate into the pencils and
fill them to the top. Leave the chocolate to cool. When the chocolate has cooled
enough you will see that it has set around the edges of the pencils. When that
border around the edges is about 2mm thick you can empty the rest of the
chocolate back into the pot. This will leave you with hollow chocolate-coated
pencils. Now place the moulds into the freezer for about three - five minutes to
set. Once set, you can fill the pencils with mini Astros. With a pair of
scissors cut a marshmallow to fit into the end of the pencil as a plug. Dip the
marshmallow into melted chocolate and then insert it into the end of the pencil.
Leave to set. Then gently remove the bulldog clips and the pencil from the
mould. Wrap the pencil neatly in a piece of clear cellophane. These pencils are
wonderful party gifts for your children's birthdays.
